Dynamic Tab Settings

Access

Use this routine to create custom, user-defined inquiries called DTS (dynamic tab select) inquiries. You select from a list of regular STORIS inquiry routines, for example the View a Customer's Historical Deposits (Deposit History Inquiry).  The inquiries appear as tabs on your DTS. Not all STORIS inquiries can be added to DTSs.

To view a DTS inquiry, you must add it to a menu via the Set Up Menus. See the section below on saving and viewing DTSs.

Each DTS is based on one of the following types:

  1. Product (IC)

  2. Customer (AR)

  3. Vendor (AP)

  4. Salesperson (TE)

  5. Revolving (AR)

Each of the above DTS types consists of a different set of inquires from which you can choose. You specify the type at the Type field, and the inquiry options available to you list accordingly.

STORIS comes delivered with the following standard DTS inquiries. You can edit these, but you cannot delete them.

Saving and Viewing DTSs

When you finish creating your DTS and click Save, a prompt appears asking if you want to add this DTS to the USER_DEFINED menu. If you answer Yes, the system adds the DTS to the USER_DEFINED menu and you can then add the DTS to a STORIS menu (to view a DTS, you must first add it to a STORIS menu). If you answer No, the DTS is not added to the USER_DEFINED menu and you cannot view the DTS. Each time you save the DTS, this prompt appears until you answer Yes.

If you answer Yes to the above prompt, another prompt appears called User Defined Menu Description. Use this prompt to modify the description of the DTS. Since a single DTS can appear on multiple menus, you may want to give each a unique yet related name. However, this is not a required field.

After you add a DTS to the USER-DEFINED menu, you can go to the Set Up Menus routine and add the DTS to a menu. When you click on the Action button at the Menu Option field, a small menu appears from which you can select Add User-Defined Options. Find your DTS on the list - it should appear near the bottom.
