Use this routine to establish parameters used in foreign processing, and also to determine how currency and address prompts (for example, zip code, city, state, province) and their associated data display in the system. All systems must have a domestic (that is, home) country, which is determined by the Home Currency field in the General System Control Settings. STORIS includes pre-built country codes for Canada (CAN) and the United States (USA).

You also use this routine to set up masks for the various countries you use in your system.

 If you attempt to edit settings for your domestic country, an error message appears. To edit settings for your domestic country, contact your STORIS representative.

Country CodeEnter the code of the country you want to create or edit.  You can enter up to five alphanumeric Consisting of both letter and number characters and often other symbol characters such as punctuation marks. characters.  Note that STORIS provides you with codes for Canada (CAN) and the United States (USA).

General

NameThis is the name of the country.

Name of CurrencyEnter the name of the selected country's currency. For example, if you enter USA at the Country Code field, set this field to DOLLAR.  For European countries, set this field to EURO.

Name of FractionEnter the name of the "fraction" used by this country’s currency. For example, if the country is the United States, set this field to CENT. If this country is Mexico, set this field to PESO.

Currency SymbolEnter the symbol used to indicate this country’s currency. For example, if the country is the United States, set this field to $ (dollar sign).

Nbr of DecimalsThis is the number of decimal places (fraction) for this country’s currency. For example, if the country is the United States, this field will be set to 2 (two).

Symbol Placement

Accounts Payable GL AccountTo track GL activity for this specific country, enter the AP GL account number here. If you click on the Action button, the GL Account Entry Screen appears, which you can use to select an account.

Exchange GL AccountEnter the GL account (if any) you want to use to track changes to the exchange rate that occur from the time an AP bill was created to the time the payment was issued. If you click on the Action button, the GL Account Entry screen appears, which you can use to select an account.

Estimated Exchange RateEnter the exchange rate you want the system to use in Purchase Order Entry.  For your domestic country, set this field to 1.000000.  For other countries, enter the exchange rate for the country.

Actual Exchange RateEnter the most current exchange rate for the selected country’s currency. For your domestic country, set this field to 1.000000.  For other countries, enter the exchange rate for the country. STORIS recommends you update this field periodically to reflect the current value.

In the case of foreign exchange rates only, this field can be overridden in the Exchange Rate field in Distribute Add-on Receiving Costs.

National Tax Code

Dial PrefixEnter the dial prefix for this country.

TPA EquivalentEnter the TPA (Third-Party Accounting) Of or relating to an outside accounting software system such as QuickBooks® and used to interface STORIS data with such a system. The STORIS TPA interface is used as an alternative to STORIS Accounting. (third-party accounting) equivalent for this country. The response here (if any) overrides the response in the Country Code field when interfacing with a TPA package or the Generic Interface Languages and codes that applications use to communicate with each other and with hardware..

A TPA equivalent is an alternate prompt response you must provide for certain fields in the event that the contents of the associated field in the TPA program are incompatible with the STORIS field. In this case, the Country Code field on this screen is structured such that some country codes from TPA programs are incompatible with STORIS. The same can be true if you use the Generic Interface.

For example, in QuickBooks®, the country code for Canada is CANADA. However, the Country Code field in STORIS accepts a maximum of five characters. So, when creating a Country record for Canada in STORIS, you can enter "CAN" the Country Code field, and "CANADA" in the TPA Equivalent field.

 If you use STORIS Accounting, this field is inactive.

Masking

The following is a list of codes you can use to create masks.

• A – alpha character only.

• 9 – numeric character only.

• X – alpha or numeric character.

• 0 – optional use of space where character appears. For example, a mask In location tracking, a template or schematic you create to represent the racking system of a warehouse. Masks can represent systems of aisles and bins, levels, areas, etc.. In field formatting, a filter that selectively includes or excludes certain values from a field. of 99900 indicates a three-digit number that may or may not have one or two additional characters.

• (-) - dash (delimiter)

• ( ) - space (delimiter)

First Address MaskThis mask In location tracking, a template or schematic you create to represent the racking system of a warehouse. Masks can represent systems of aisles and bins, levels, areas, etc.. In field formatting, a filter that selectively includes or excludes certain values from a field. determines the type of data that will be entered in the first segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, the first segment would be City. The mask would then be entered as AXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. (A = allows entry of alpha characters; X = allows entry of both alpha and numeric characters.) STORIS has pre-set Canada and the United States.

First Address PromptThis field is used to determine the prompt for the first segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, this field would be entered as CITY. STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

First DelimiterThis field is used to indicate the delimiter to be used between the first and second segments. For example, if the country is the United States, enter a comma (,) in this field to place a comma between City and State. STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

Second Address MaskThis mask determines the type of data that will be entered in the second segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, the second segment would be State code. The mask would then be entered as AA. (A = allows entry of alpha characters.) STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

Second Address PromptThis field is used to determine the prompt for the second segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, this field would be entered as STATE. STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

Second DelimiterThis field is used to indicate the delimiter to be used between the second and third segments. For example, if the country is the United States, leave this field blank, as no delimiter is used between the State and Zip Code. STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

Third Address MaskThis mask determines the type of data that will be entered in the third segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, the third segment would be Zip Code. The mask would then be entered as 99999-9999. (9 = allows entry of numeric characters) STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States. You can enter spaces in zip codes.  

Third Address PromptThis field is used to determine the prompt for the third segment in this country's address. For example, if the country is the United States, this field would be entered as ZIP CODE. STORIS has pre-built Canada and the United States.

Telephone Number Mask Enter a single mask that represents the telephone number format for this country, or click the Action button to access the Telephone Mask Settings screen, where you can define multiple telephone masks.

To select a domestic currency, click the Actions button at the bottom of the screen and select Set Domestic.
